Research based in the US estimates that if Americans ate ONE more serving per day, like an apple, this alone would save $5 BILLION US in health care. If everyone actually ate the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables the savings would be $17 billion. Billion. Dollars. 17 billion. It would also save 127,000 lives

What is a serving? 1 apple, plum, pear, peach, banana, orange, kiwi or 1/2 cup of berries, 1/2 grapefruit, 1/2 avocado. Or 1/2 cup of bell peppers, peas, broccoli, carrots, beets, zucchini or green beans. 1 cup of lettuce, kale or spinach.

One more serving a day. Can you imagine if everyone ate the recommended 7 – 10 servings? What we could do with $17 billion dollars?
