Exercise Myths

There is a lot of misconceptions when it comes to exercise and while this is not an extensive list, it is a good start.

A few things to keep in mind if you think what you are hearing or reading may not be true:

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Any activity is better than being sedentary and more is even better.

You can’t ruin your knees by running.

It is not possible to get 6 pack abs in 6 weeks, unless you already have 6 pack abs.

Muscle cannot turn into fat.

Lifting heavy weight doesn’t mean you will get big and bulky.

Yes, you do need to do lower body strength exercises even if you cycle, run, hike or any other endurance activity. They are not the same and are complimentary.

And sorry, just because you exercise doesn’t mean you can eat more later.
