When I was posting about Alternative Facts (AF) on Monday I forgot about one of the best AF spreaders… Gwyneth Paltrow. A continuous stream of crazy ideas and irresponsible nonsense. 

The latest AF from GP is the Vagina Egg. Yes, vagina egg. It’s jade and apparently you (if you have a vagina of course) use it to strengthen your magical properties, oh sorry, it’s the egg that has magical properties. One would use it to DETOXIFY. Never mind that jade is porous and can have toxic bacteria increasing the risk of infections. It is currently sold out on GP’s website. That is frightening.

You know that you don’t need a jade egg to detox and improve your magical properties. 

Exercise does that. 

Exercise is the fountain of youth. New research on older women shows that staying active and avoiding sedentary behaviour keeps our DNA young. 

Sitting frays your telomeres, the ends of your DNA, which shortens your life. Exercising for at least 30 minutes a day protects your telomeres.

30 minutes, that is it. Dr Shadyab for the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine says,

 “We found that women who sat for longer did not have shorter telomere length if they exercised for at least 30 minutes a day.”

Not only will 30 minutes of exercise protect your telomeres, but short periods of exercise has an anti-inflammatory effect. Yes, 20 minutes of exercise results in anti-inflammatory response at the cellular level. Every time you exercise you are improving your immune system, strengthening your DNA and reducing chronic inflammation. 

Best of all, it’s free. Walking will give you all the benefits. No egg can do that.
