
Vegan Buns
These buns are easy to make in a food processor and good to use for veggie burgers and sandwiches. They last in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Equipment
- 1 Food Processor
- 1 mixing bowl
- 1 measuring cup
- 1 Measuring Spoons
- 1 Baking Sheet
- parchment paper
Ingredients
- 2.5 tsp active dry yeast
- 1.5 tsp natural sugar
- 1.25 cups warm water
- .5 cup olive oil
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Heat water in a kettle until warm but not hot.
- In a measuring cup add warm water, yeast and sugar. Leave until yeast starts to foam, about 5 minutes
- In a separate mixing bowl mix 2 cups of flour with salt.
- With dough blade in food processor add yeast mixture. Then add two cups of flour.
- Blend and with food processor running add more flour until a dough ball starts to form.
- Add more of the flour mixture until it starts to form a ball.
- Add as much flour as necessary to make a dough ball that sticks together.
- Take dough ball out of the food processor and place into a lightly oiled mixing bowl.
- Let stand to rise for approximately one hour.
- Preheat oven to 425 and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove dough from bowl and gently roll into a circle.
- Cut into six – eight sections and place on baking sheet lined with parchment.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes.
