Exercise and weight loss
Exercise alone will not help with weight loss. Exercise ≠ weight loss.
Or maybe it does? Not directly, but we know that exercise improves our health, increases muscle mass, helps us eat better and much more.
New research proves another indirect way exercise will help you, it will burn more fat.
Reduce body fat with exercise
Exercise will change your fat. It trains your fat to release proteins called adipokines. Adipokines normally increase with weight gain and cause negative changes to our health and metabolism. Training causes changes to these proteins that reduce blood lipids levels while improving glucose sensitivity.
In other words, exercise trains our fat.
Exercise changes fat cells, causing them to release a new type of adipokine that improves our health. By using lactic acid, which is released during exercise, fat cells release these proteins to reduce blood sugar.
Even though time spent exercising doesn’t result in a lot of calories burned, it drastically changes your fat cells. Exercise improves your fat cells metabolic response and changes them to burn more fat.
Another great reason to exercise
A few other ways that exercise helps to maintain your weight include increased muscle mass, increased metabolism and improved sleep. All important factors in reducing and maintaining your weight.
