Could you be vegan for one month?

November Challenge is coming soon!

Did you know that November is World Vegan Month? Last year for the month of November I challenged you to do something everyday for the month of November. Many of you joined me and I would encourage you to do it again this year. Do you think you could be vegan for one month?

November 1st is World Vegan Day.

It is also the start of Vegan Month. There are many great reasons to eat and use less animal products. Your health, and the health of the environment, are two good ones. There is also new research showing that eating well in your adult years improves health in old age. That seems like common sense, but maybe it isn’t. Obesity rates are rising, chronic diseases are being diagnosed in younger adults, children have signs of heart disease. The good news is that you are never too old to make a difference, but it is never too early to start.

The author of this new study and researcher, Sian Robinson, professor of Nutrition Epidemiology at the University of Southampton, says

Improving the quality of your diet can have a beneficial effect on health whatever your age. However, this study suggests that making good dietary choices throughout adulthood – by cutting down on highly processed foods and incorporating more fruit, vegetables and whole grains into your diet can have a significant beneficial effect on strength and physical performance later in life, helping to ensure a much healthier old age.”

Eating better helps you stay physically active.

Eating better can help you maintain your balance and leg strength. Your muscles perform better when you eat better. Everything benefits from a healthy diet. When I read about this I started thinking about how I could make your November Challenge easier and practical. I have a few ideas and I will share them later, but first I want to know what would make eating a plant-based diet easier for you?

Help me, help you.

I have lots of ideas, but they have to work for you. Do you like more recipes? Reasons to switch to a vegan diet? Tips? Reminders? Daily emails? Videos? Let me know what you think. It could be a combination of all the above. It is just over a week until November 1st and I will send out a link if you want to be part of the November Challenge. This will include ways to eat a vegan diet this November as well as tips on how to stick to your own challenge, but first let me know what you think would work best for you.

Change your mind, change your health,

Shayla
